MRS. CHARLES ADOLF
Mrs. Charles Adolf who passed away on June 19, 1945 was born Elizabeth Schmoll on June 2, 1878 in Koerle, Hessen, Germany She was received into the Christian church through the sacrament of Holy Baptism as an infant. When 12 years old, in 1890, she came to America and settled in the vicinity of Hartley where she had lived until her death. In 1892, on April 10, she confirmed her baptismal vows and became an active member in the work of the church.
On November 24th, 1898 Elizabeth Schmoll was joined in marriage with Charles Adolf. The couple lived near Hartley for a time before moving into town. Both Mr and Mrs. Adolf were among the early members of the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church and at the time of her death, Mrs. Adolf was also a member of the two women's organizations of the church, being secretary of the Ladies Aid.
Mrs. Adolf passed this earthly life on Tuesday, June 19th, following a short illness, at the age of 67 years and 17 days.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Adolf of Hartley. Funeral services were held at the Foley funeral home and at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church on Friday, June 22. Rev B. H.
