Florence E. Koehlmoos

Funeral services for Florence E. Koehlmoos were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 1998, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, Iowa, with Rev. John Massey officiating.

The congregation sang "How Great Thou Art" and "I'm But a Stranger Here." The organist was Darlene Petitt. The casket bearers were Cory Koerselman, Brian Duncanson, Dennis Puhrmann, Heath DeJager, Rick Roberts and Dennis Koehlmoos. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon, Iowa.

OBITUARY

Florence Emma Koehlmoos, the daughter of Louis and Doris Brinckmann Puhrmann, was born November 18, 1916, in Baker Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.

On February 18, 1938, she was united in marriage to Edwin Koehlmoos in Sutherland, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Gaza, Iowa, and later in the Paullina area for many years before moving into Paullina in 1974. The couple moved to Sheldon, Iowa, in 1990.

Her husband preceded her in death on June 17, 1996, in Paullina, Iowa. Florence passed away on Saturday, December 12, 1998, at the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina, reaching the age of eighty-two years and twenty-four days.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina and ater became a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.

Florence leaves to mourn her passing two daughters: Janet and her husband, Ron Koerselman of Sheldon, Iowa, and Mary and her husband, Mike Harleman of Spencer, Iowa; four grandchildren: Kara and her husband, Brian Duncanson, Cory Koerselman, Tanya and her husband, Rick Roberts and Heath DeJager and his fiance, Heidi Page; also a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and four brothers.
