Albert F. Drefke Was Native Son
Popular Citizen of Liberty Township had Studied for the Ministry

Albert Frederick Drefke was born in Liberty township, Nov. 14, 1874, and died at his home in that township Wednesday, April 5, near midnight. He enjoyed the friendship and esteem of the people of Cherokee county.

As an infant he was baptized in the Lutheran church and was confirmed at St. Marks, Missouri Synod, church in Liberty in 1860, becoming and, until the time of his death, remaining an active member of that congregation.

For four years he attended Concordia Theological Seminary at Springfield, Ill., preparatory to the ministerial profession, but because of ill health, was unable to complete the course of study.

On February 26, 1903, he was united in marriage with Miss Mathilda Langkand. To this union were born two sons, Harvey and Loren, who reside with their mother on the farm.

Funeral services will be conducted at St. Marks church, by Rev. E.J. Otto, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Burial Will be made in Liberty Cemetery.
