Obituary

The burial service for Marlene Fay Koehlmoos was held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church on Friday afternoon, February 16. The Rev. W.H. Jurgens, pastor of the church, was in charge. His sermon was based on the words "Suffer the little children to come unto Me." recorded in St. Mark 10, 14. The Children's Chorus of St. John sang the 23rd Psalm, according to an ancient chant. The congregation sang three chorales during the service.

The deceased was born on November 14, 1938; and on December 4 she was received into the Kingdom of God through Holy Baptism. Shortly before Christmas last she had to be taken out of school to nurse her waning strength. All that parental love and medical skill could offer was done; but the Lord hand willed far better for her. She fell asleep on Monday evening, February 12, at the tender age of 6 years, 2 months and 28 days.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koehlmoos, two brothers, Francis and Verdis; three sisters, Mildred, Shirley and Phyllis; and also many other relatives.

Her body was laid to rest in St. John cemetery, being borne by Elwood Koehlmoos, Leland Koehlmoos, Harry Ebel and Wesley Kuester.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Otto Daum, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Meyer, Lewis Rodney and Delores of Mallard, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kuhlman and Marvin of Tyler, Minn., and Mrs. Hy Edmundsen, Dal and Harold of Woodstock, Minn.
