FRANK MUMM PASSES AWAY

Frank Mumm passed away Jan. 17th 1934, at Sioux Valley hospital in Cherokee following an operation.

He was born December 22, 1893, at Remsen, Iowa, being 40 years, 24 days of age at the time of his death. The place near Remsen was the home of the family until 1904, with the exception of about, two years which were spent at Santa Cruz, Calif. In the spring of 1904 the family moved to a farm northeast of Gaza, Iowa.

On February 22, 1911, he. was united In wedlock with Miss Mary Westphal of Primghar, Iowa. They made their home on a farm near Gaza until 1928 when they moved to their present home near Remsen. Iowa.

This union was blessed with three children. One son Alvin preceded him in death less than a year ago. He is survived by his sorrowing wife, two sons Arnold, age 13 years, and Edwin, age 8 years, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mumm. of Paullina, and one sister, Mrs. Wm Jaacks of Paullina, and a number of other relatives.

He was a man who was highly respected and esteemed by his neighbors and friends. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and a dutiful son.

He took sick on January 11, and after a few days was taken to the hospital where he passed away at about 1:00 A. M„ January 17th, following an operation.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Remsen last Friday, Rev Wucbben officiating. Burial was made at Prairie View cemetery at Paullina.
