Funeral Rites for Mrs. Anna Mumm Are Held Here Saturday

Mrs. Anna Mumm died at her home here early in the morning of June 22. Mrs. Mumm's health had graduallv declined during the past several years. About a month ago she suffered a stroke from which she never recovered. She died at the age of 85 years. 7 months and 12 days.

Mrs. Anna Mumm, nee Block, was born at Bennebeck in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on November 10, 1864. At the age of 24 she left her native land and came to America.

On October 10, 1810 she was married to Peter F Mumm. Pastor E Zuerrer, of St John Lutheran church at Gcrnantown performed the ceremony. To them were born two childrcn, one son and one daughter.

After their mariage, Peter and Mrs. Mumm made their home on a farm near Remsen For about two and one half years, from 1904 to 1908. they lived in Santa Cruz, Calif. When they returned in 1904, thev moved on a farm near Gaza from which they retired in 1917 to make their home in Paullina.

Peter Mumm preceded his wife in death in 1940. Both of her children died in 1934, and two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death as well.

Mrs. Mumm is survived by her grandson, Arnold Mumm.

Funeral services were held Saturday with a short service at the home at T45 and at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:00 Interment followed in the Prairie View cemetery. The Rev. Martin Peters officiated.
