MRS. EVERETT SHAFFER

Adella Shaffer, nee Ebel, was born Jan. 1, 1911, in Granville, Iowa. She was baptized In the name of the Triune God In Ev. Luth. St. John's church, Germantown. When she was three years old, her parents moved to Truman, Minn. Here Adella grew up. She attended the parochial school of the Lutheran church at Truman. After she had been thoroughly instructed in the divine truths of the Bible, she renewed and affirmed her Baptismal Vow at the altar of the Lord, 1924. Since 1927, when the Ebel family returned to Germantown, she had been a member of Ev Luth. St. John's church.

On Sept. 1, 1935, she entered holy wedlock with Mr Everett Shaffer. In the spring of the following year they moved onto a farm southeast of Paullina.

Several months ago, Mrs. Shaffer underwent a serious operation, from which she had quite well recuperated. About four weeks ago she was stricken with a severe cold which confined her to her bed. She was unable to withstand the ravages of the disease. Last Wednesday morning she peacefully departed this life, having attained an age of 26 years, 4 months, and 18 days.

She is mourned by her sorrowing husband, her grief stricken parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held in Ev. Luth. St. John's church in Germantown and her mortal remains laid to rest in the cemetery of that church Saturday afternoon. The large audience which attended her funeral and the many and beautiful floral offerings are evidence of the high esteem in which she was held.
