Mrs. E. L. Holtorff Passes Away in Chicago
Was the Former Lydia Brockmann of the Germantown Community

Word was received here of the death of Mrs. E. L. Holtorff, nee Lydia Brockmann, of 8344 Luella Ave., Chicago, who died Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. after an extended illness. Members of the J. D. Brockmann family are in Chicago to attend the funeral services.

Mrs. Holtorff was very well known in this community. She was born and raised on the home farm near Germantown, graduating from the Paullina high school. She received an advanced education in music in Chicago, and entertained many with her beautiful soprano voice. For several years she was a member of the choir of the First Presbyterian church, which at that time was under the direction, of Mrs. W. J. E. Thatcher.
