VELMA RICKERS KRUSE

Velma Doris Kruse, nee Rickers, the daughter of John and Tenia Runge Rickers, was born near Sutherland, Iowa August 14, 1916. She was educated in schools near her childhood home.

She was united in marriage at Hartley. Iowa to Lester Kruse on December 18, 1938. The couple farmed near Calumet, Iowa.

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, and the Meditation Group, and was a former Sunday School teacher.

She passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City after a brief illness on April 4, 1974 at the age of 57.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; three sons: Larry of Lake City, Iowa, Richard of Cherokee and Rodney of Tampa, Florida; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Judy) Ducommun of Larrabee, Iowa; six grandchildren; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rickers of Sutherland; one brother, Ernest Rickers of Calumet, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Donald (Norma) Thorius of Hobbs, New Mexico; many other friends and relatives.
