Services Held for Christine Horstman

Services for Christine M. Horstman were held at the First Presbyterian Church at Paullina, Iowa, on Saturday, January 7, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Walter Hamer officiated. Kay Grosvenor was organist while the congregation sang "Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were William Rolles, Morris Green, Carleton Horstman, Eldon Hatterman, Wayne Hatter-man and Walter Struck. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina.

OBITUARY

Christine Minnie Horstman of Spirit Lake, Iowa, died January 3, 1984, in the Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. She has made her home in the Hilltop Care Center for the past several years. Services were held at 10:30 a m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Paullina, Iowa, Saturday, January 7, 1984 Graveside services and burial was at Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa The Rev. Walter Hamer of the First United Presbyterian Church of Spirit Lake officiated.

Christine Horstman, daughter of Charles and Fredricka Fricke was born January 20, 1885, on the family homestead in Liberty Township, Cherokee County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.

On June 10, 1903, she was united in marriage to Harry Horstman. They farmed in O'Brien County until retiring and moving to Paullina, Iowa in 1912.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Clara, her husband, Harry, March 13, 1935, and her son, Alvin C. Horstman, June 21, 1983.

Survivors include her grandchildren and their spouses, Clarice and Morris Green of Emmetsburg, and Carleton and Mary Horstman of Des Moines, Iowa, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. A.C. Horstman of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and three great granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn and Stephanie Anne Green and Angela Marie Horstman.

Two sisters preceded her in death, Mrs. Herman Stuber and Mrs. Otto Schneider, both from Cleghorn, Iowa.
