Services held for Robert B. Towe

Funeral services for Robert B. Towe were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 1995, at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, Iowa, with the Rev. Donald Freeman officiating. The casket bearers were Fred Massmann, Norman Laue, Jim Wester, Bill Goosen, Ron Cullison and Arvin Hofmeyer. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home. Military Graveside Services were conducted by Russell West Post of the American Legion.

OBITUARY

Robert Bruce Towe, the son of Severn E and Helen Waldhelm Towe, was born June 2, 1931, at Paullina, Iowa. He graduated from Paullina High School in 1949. He furthered his education at Westmar College and Iowa State University. He served in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954.

He married Orle Freerking on July 24, 1955. In 1957, the couple moved to the farm where they had presently been living. He also operated Bob's Plumbing and Heating for many years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina and served as Deacon and Elder. He was also a member of the Russell West Post American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting but received the most enjoyment from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; three sons: Steve and his wife, Julie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Jim and his wife, Jean of Spencer, Iowa; Jeff and his wife, Linda of Paullina; one daughter, Lynn of Paullina; five grandchildren: Mariah, Jennifer, Sarah, Melissa and Cody, two sisters: Mrs. Merle (Alice Marie) Ihle and Mrs. Jack (Marian) Turner of Paullina; and three brothers: Severn L. of Paullina; Donald of Carrollton, Texas; and Larry of Paullina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters and one infant brother.
