Services Held for Mrs. Helen Towe Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Severn Towe, Sr were held Saturday morning, Jan. 26 from the First Presbyterian Church of Paullina

Mrs. Towe passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23 at the Primghar Care Center where she resided. Rev Carl Soderberg officiated at the services. Pallbearers were John Ihle, Kenneth Towe, Thomas Towe, Bill Towe. James Towe and Bruce Towe. Otis Grosvenor sang two hymns. "How Great Thou Art" and "A Mighty Fortress is Our God", accompanied by Mrs. Grosvenor.

Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery near Paullina with arrangements under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Homes

Helen M Towe. the daughter of David and Alice Gunn Waldhelm, was born on October 22. 1892 in Primghar, Iowa. She received her education in the Primghar schools and later taught in O'Brien rural schools for six years. On March 21.1917. she was united in marriage to Severn Towe, after their marriage they farmed in the Paullina area until 1957 when they retired and moved into Paullina. The family was saddened by the death of Severn on Memorial Day of 1959.

Helen remained in Paullina until entering the Primghar Care Center where she resided until her passing on Wednesday, January 23. 1980, reaching the age of 87 years, 3 months and 1 day.

She is survived by her children, Mrs Merle (Alice Marie) Ihle of Paullina; Severn of Paullina, Donald of Carrollton, Texas, Mrs. Jack (Marian) Turner of Grand Prairie, Texas; Robert and Larry, both of Paullina, 15 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Severn and three infant children.
