OBITUARY
On February 13, 1929 Heavenly Father sent one of his fairest daughters to bless the lives of Severn E. and Helen Maude "Nellie" Towe. She was born on a small farm in the Dale Township of Paullina, Iowa. While growing up on the farm she developed a passion for flowers, birds, and nature of all kind. She attended country school, and later graduated from Paullina High School in 1947. She continued her education by attending Iowa State Teacher's College. Upon graduation, she spent several years teaching public school.
Known for her love of children and compassionate service, she spent and devoted her life to the education of her children and all who knew her.
While teaching she met and married Frank Albert Corpaci on July 21, 1952. To their union were born three children: Gail, Toni, and Salvatore.
After the loss of her husband in 1973 she married Jack Turner on August 21, 1976, and gained two stepdaughters, Bessie and Sue. Marian and Jack resided in Grand Prairie, Texas until Jack retired. With country life beckoning, they returned to Marian's hometown in 1989 so that she could reunite with family and friends, although she left behind her beloved grandson, Frank Yu Chou.
One of the most important moments in her life came when she was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1974. She had many callings in which she served including Relief Society President, Primary Teacher, Scout Leader, and as a visiting teacher. Her service in the community involved assisting handicapped children on the "school" bus.
Her love for others was always unconditional, and her role was often that of peacemaker. Marian was well traveled having visited nearly all of the United States, even living in eight of them. She was well read, and instilled in her children the importance of lifelong learning. Her wonderful sense of humor and ability to laugh even in the most difficult times made being with her a joy. She was optimistic to the end and never complained even as illness came upon her.
Like her mother, Marian had an artistic flair for crafting beautiful things with whatever materials were available. She loved to paint, listen to music, and even trained and performed as a square dancer with her husband Jack. Though she liked a clean house, she seldom discarded anything of sentimental value given to her by loved ones. She had numerous collections including key chains, spoons, magnets, and geese. The most precious things in her life however, were her family and a faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith and hope in an eternal life brought peace and comfort as she finished her life's journey. Though we shall miss her cheerful and compassionate nature we know that she has returned to her Heavenly Home.
Marian leaves to cherish her memory her husband Johnnie Clark Turner of Paullina, Iowa; daughter Gail W. Chou and her son Frank Yu of Arlington, Texas; daughter Toni A. Montgomery and her husband Timothy Jay of Ogden, Utah; sister Alice Marie Ihle of Paullina, Iowa; brother Severn (Bus) Towe of Paullina, Iowa; brother Donald Towe and his wife Jane of Carrolton, Texas; sister-in-law Orle Towe and brother Larry Towe, both of Paullina, step-daughters Bessie Lou Stearns and her husband Larry of Tacoma, Washington and Gwendolyn Sue Dalton of Alburquerque, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by a brother Robert (Bobbie) Towe; brother-in-law Merle Ihle and a sister-in-law Margie Towe.
