Mrs. Ben (Anna) Holtgrewe, Remsen, 86, longtime Remsen area resident, died Sunday (Sept. 26, 1976) at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness. Although she had been in failing health, Mrs. Holtgrewe became suddenly ill a week ago and had been hospitalized since that time.

Anna Ebert was born June 1890 in O'Brien county to Christian and Alvina Strehlke Ebert. She had been living with a daughter in Remsen since 1960.

Her marriage took place May 10, 1907 in O'Brien county. The couple farmed in Paullina and Remsen areas for 35 years and moved into Remsen in 1955. Her husband preceded her in death in 1960.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church in Remsen with Rev. Allen H. Brutlag officiating. Burial will be in Prairie View cemetery, Paullina, under direction of the Moeller funeral home in Remsen.

Survivors are three step children,, Mrs. Caroline Jurgensen of Paullina; Roy of Marcus and Mrs. Esther Ott of Remsen. Even children, Elsie Holtgrewe, Remsen; Mrs. Lillian Ott, Paullina; Mrs. Walter (Ida) Grimberg, Paullina; Albert of Bentonville, Ark.; Mrs. Harry (Nora) Tesch, Primghar; Mrs. Harry (Bernice) Bottjen, Remsen; Mrs. Carl (Gladys) Bottjen, Hawarden; Mrs. John (Ermann) Lower, Sioux City; Burdette of Remsen; Benjamin, Jr. of Remsen; Mrs. Shirley La Moine, Mesa, Ariz.; 49 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, Paullina, Mrs. Irene La Maack, Primghar and half- brother, Herman Ebert of Primghar.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Harm Seggerman of Marcus and two in infancy and by three sisters.
