Funeral services for Eva Moats

Funeral services for Eva A. Moats, 82, of Omaha and formerly of the Primghar and Paullina area, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 1992 at the Heafey and Hoffman Funeral Home in Omaha with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Further services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Paullina with burial in the Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

Eva A. Moats, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Sass Jones, was born October 7, 1910 at Washta, Iowa. She moved with her family as a small child to the Paullina area where she received her education and later graduating from Paullina High School. She went on to obtain her teaching certificate from Buena Vista College. She taught, rural school in both O'Brien and Cherokee Counties.

On December 30, 1932 she was united in marriage to Leslie Moats in Osmond, Nebraska. After their marriage the couple fanned in the Peterson and Spencer areas before settling on a farm southwest of Primghar in 1943. They farmed the family farm until 1974 when they retired and moved to Omaha to be near their daughters. While in the Primghar area the couple attended the United Church of Primghar.

Eva passed away on Saturday, December 12,1992 at an Omaha nursing home reaching the age of 82 years 2 months and 5 days.

Eva leaves to cherish her memory her husband Leslie of Omaha, two daughters Janice and her husband Robert Rasmussen and Jeanette Eaton both of Omaha, three grandchildren Phyllis Wieseler of Kansas City, Kathryn Rassmussen of Lincoln, Nebraska and Leslie and his wife Danialle Eaton of Omaha, also seven great grandchildren one brother Marlin Jones of' Primghar also a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne, her parents, two brothers Dan and Llyn, and one sister Ruby.
