Services Held for James W. Carnahan

Services for James W. Carnahan were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 1985, at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home at Paullina, Iowa, with the Rev. Scott Hibben officiating. Pallbearers were Steve Carnahan, Lon Carnahan, Todd Rohwer, Lance Carnahan, Todd Meyer and Dan Stamer. "How Great Thou Art" and "Old Rugged Cross" were sung by Jake Moremond with Mrs. Verla Hibbing at the organ. The final resting place is Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa. The arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY James Wallace Carnahan, the son of Ernest and Elsie Muckler Carnahan, was born March 10, 1934 in Primghar, Iowa. He attended schools in Sutherland and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1952. He then went on to attend the University of Iowa and graduated in 1958. He then moved to California, where he went into Banking and later being employed by the Kaiser Foundation as a comptroller. He retired in 1972 because of ill health.
James passed away on Saturday, May 4, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, reaching the age of 51 years, 1 month and 24 days.

James is survived by one sister, Mrs. Art (Evelyn) Kopp of Paullina; four brothers, Gerald Carnahan of Hartley, Donald Carnahan of Worthington, Minn., Robert Carnahan of Fremont, Nebraska, and Francis Carnahan of Sutherland; also many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Muriel and Mrs. Lloyd (Marjorie) Thompson; and one nephew, Gary Lee Carnahan.
