"Philip" Johann Heinrich Philip Richter (1866-1950)

Philip Richter, 83, was buried in St John church cemetery ot Germantown Thursday afternoon following services conducted at the home at 1:30 and at the church at 2:00. The Rev. G. B. Eschenbacher, pastor of the church, officiated.

Six grandsons of Mr. Richter served as pallbearers. They were Gerhard Koehlmoos, Leland Koehlmoos, Wilmont Pauling, Hillard Mueller, Burnell Koehlmoos and LaVerne Richter.

Interment was made at the St. John cemetery.

Johann Heinrich Philip Richter was born Mar 13, 1866 in Cook county. Ill. As an infant he was baptized in the Lutheran church and later was confirmed in the same.

In the year 1880 he came with his parents to O'Brien county They made their home on a farm 8 miles west and two miles south of Paullina. He lived here until 1922. when he purchased a home in Germantown where he continued to spend the rest of his life Death came to him ot the Lutheran hospital in Sioux Citv on Feb. 6 ot the age of 83 years. 10 months and 24 days.

In November of 1892 he was married to Helena Labott. Eight children were born to this marriage. The three sons are Paul. Edwin and Harold all from Paullina and vicinity. The six daughters are Mrs. Emilie Mueller of Paullina, Mrs. Ida Koehlmoos. Mrs. Meta Koehlmoos, Mrs Ella Pauling, Mrs. Berdina Heithus. The sixth daughter, Mrs. Matilda Meyer, died in the year 1934. Mr Richter also had 37 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
