Lin Montgomery, the daughter of V. Donald and Marianne (Rahbusch) Lenhart was born on June 29, 1960, in Hartley, Iowa. She grew up in the Sutherland area on a dairy farm. She attended school in Sutherland and graduated from high school in 1978. Following high school, Lin's love of children was shared with those at Faith Hope and Charity in Storm Lake, where she met her husband, Monte.

On August 10, 1985, Lin married Monte Montgomery at the Sutherland Church of Christ. Following their marriage, Lin was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her family. In 2000, she went to work as a Preschool aide at the Clay Central-Everly Schools for ten years, and most recently at Noah's Ark Daycare in Sutherland.

She was a lifelong member of the Sutherland Church of Christ and was very active in the childrens programs. She was always willing to help wherever needed. She had a true heart of a servant. Lin loved her family dearly and enjoyed watching her family participate in sports.

Lin passed away on March 12, 2015, at the Cherokee Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa, at the age of 54. She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, William F. Montgomery; special uncle, Edward L. Lenhart; and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Monte of Calumet; her children: Benton Donald Montgomery of Calumet, Brittany Lin Erickson and husband, John of Sutherland, Brice Owen Montgomery of Calumet and Blair Lewis Montgomery of Calumet; one very precious granddaughter, Karianne Maxine Erickson; three sisters: Shirley Lenhart of Sutherland, Donita Carlson and husband, Steve of Sutherland, Carol Lenhart of Sutherland; one brother, Ron Lenhart and wife, Wanda of Sutherland; nieces: Angie Schueder and husband, Brandon, Amber Carlson, Ashley Wulf and husband, Jeremy; nephews: Luke Lenhart, Logan Lenhart and Landon Lenhart; great nieces: Taylor and Tawni Wulf; great nephews: Dylan Schueder and Tyson Wulf; mother-in-law, Maxine Agnes Montgomery; sisters-in-law: Teresa Ahrens and husband, John and Gina McDonald and husband, Doug; brothers-in-law: Scott Montgomery, Tim Montgomery and wife, Chris, and Dean Montgomery and wife, Sandra; other relatives and many friends.
