Graveside services were held Saturday, February 29, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. for Alma Mueller, age 90, of Sutherland. Reverend Gordon Elrick officiated at the services which were held at the Waterman Cemetery, Sutherland, with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Alma Dorothy Mueller, the daughter of Adolph and Emma Bierstedt Mueller, was born January 8, 1901 at Whittemore, Iowa. Her family moved to Sutherland when she was three years old. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1919 and attended the University of Iowa and Des Moines University.

For several years Alma worked as an operator for the phone company. She played piano for silent movies and also played in several local dance orchestras.

She passed away at Sutherland on February 25, 1992. Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Esther Scothorn.

Left to cherish her memory are her one sister and her husband, Evelyn and Gordon Shelledy of Sun City West, Arizona, as well as other relatives and friends.
