Raymond Plopper Rites
Held Monday; Passed
Away Last Wednesday

Funeral services were,held Monday
afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
Methodist church for Raymond
Plopper, 76, longtime resident of
O'Brien County, who died at the
Hartley hospital on Wednesday of
last week, following a short illness
due to a heart ailment. Rev. L. W.
Rowse had charge of the services,
directed by the Baumgarten Funeral
Home.

Mrs. Lyle Youde and Mrs. Silas
Steele sang "'Rock of Ages" and
"God Be with You Till We Meet A -
gain." Mrs. Otis Hulser was accom-
-panist.

Pallbearers were Frank Parcaut,
U. C. McObrmack, Earl Cain,
Claude Cain, Bernard Bidwell and
Alfred Steuck.
Mr. and Mrs. Math Noethe had
charge of the flowers.

1872-RAYMOND E. PLOPPER-1948
Raymond E. Plopper was born on
January 4, 1872, in O'Brien County,
Iowa, the son of Levi and Adeline
Plopper. He passed away on December
29, 1948, at Hartley, at the
age of 76 years, 11 months, and 25
days.

He had lived most of his life in
this vicinity, with the exception of
five years spent in North and South
Dakota. He was occupied at farming
until about six years ago, moving
in 1942 to Sutherland. He was
recently employed at the Parcaut
hybrid corn plant near Sutherland.

On March 2, 1899, he was married
to Alluma Dake.at Storm Lake,
Iowa. To them were born 8 children.

Preceding him in death were
three sons: Lars, who. died in infancy,
Lester, who passed away rat
the age of 15, and Jesse, at 34; also
one-brother and two sisters.

The deceased had been in ill
health for only a short time and
was hospitalized less than a week
before his death.

Left to mourn his passing are his
wife, Alluma; of Sutherland; five
children: .Merlie (Mrs. Jack Ce-
reue) of Davenport, Iowa; Charlotte
(Mrs. Henry Scheerhoorn) of
Pipestone, Minn.; Arthur and Ray
of Sutherland; and Gertrude
(Mrs. Alvin Mullenburg) of Hartley;
18 grandchildren; 3 brothers:
Leon, of Naches, Wash.; Myron of
Oakland, Calif.; Harold of Powell,
S. Dak.; .one sister, Mrs. (Flora
Harkness of Everett, Wash., besides
many other relatives and friends.
