OBITUARIES

Bertha A. Hawkins, daughter
of William Beebe and Ellen
Winnerstrand Beebe, was born
February 14, 1892. at Paullina,
Iowa. She died in Paullina at
the family home, on June 17,
1957, at the age of 65 years, 4
months, and 3 days.

She attended school in the
Paullina area. In 1911, she was
married to David K. McCauley.
To this union, one son, David,
was born. David the elder
passed away in 1928.

In 1931, she was married to
Harvey Hawkins. They have resided
in Paullina the past 36
years.

She is survived by her husband,
Harvey of Paullina, her
son, David, of Cherokee, two
grandchildren, Michael and Jane
Ann McCauley, one sister, Mrs.
Gladys Fanning of Madelia,
Minn.; a nephew, Delmar Fanning
of Sioux Falls, S. Dak.,
and a niece, Beulah Lortscher,
Long Beach, Calif.

NOTE: Despite Hawkins' presence of 30 plus years in Paullina, there is no record of Hawkins' burial in O'Brien County during this time period. He may have moved on after her death. She is buried with first husband, McCauley. ~ja
