OBITUARY

Charley A. Egdorf, the son of August and Augustine Zoch Egdorf, was born June 18, 1896, at Archer, Iowa. He attended schools south of Archer in O'Brien County, Iowa. He was called into the service serving in the Army during W.W. I.

On August 26, 1920, he was united in marriage to S. Grace Beatty in Primghar, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Archer area until 1948, when they moved to Round Lake, Minnesota. The couple farmed until their retirement in 1955. The couple made their home in Round Lake for several years after their retirement before moving to Primghar.

His wife preceded him in death on November 20, 1978, in Primghar. Charley made his home in Primghar until entering the Primghar Care Center. He passed away at the Care Center on Saturday, December 27, 1997, reaching the age of 101 years, 6 months and 9 days.

He was a member of the United Church of Primghar and the Round Lake American Legion Post #461. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bingo and was a Twins fan.

Charley leaves to cherish his memory, two sons: Walter and his wife, Josena Egdorf of Sanborn, Iowa and Lester and his wife, Rua Egdorf of Glenwood, Minnesota; two daughters: Dorothy Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska, and Lucille Rook of Primghar, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren; also a host of other relatives and friends.

His wife; a daughter, Ellen; parents; two sisters and five brothers preceded him in death.
