Grandma Dobbertin died of old age and general debility at the home of her son, Charles, Wednesday of last week. Together with her husband and three children she came from Germany in 1868 and they first settled down in Illinois. In 1881, Charles Dobbertin came to this part of Iowa accompanied by his parents who made their home with him. Papa Dobbertin died ten years ago, but Grandma enjoyed an unusual health till two weeks ago she grew weaker and weaker with out any apparent ailment. She brought her life's term to 78 years and 10 months. Her earthly remains were laid to rest last Friday in the Germantown cemetery, Rev. Horn officiating. The large number of friends who attended her funeral shows in what esteem she was held. She leaves one son, Charles, and two daughters, one at Dolton's Station, Illinois, and the other at Ladelle, South Dakota, besides many grandchildren to mourn her demise.
