Brumm - at his home in Paullina, on Tuesday, June 7, 1898, Mr. Hans Brumm, aged 76 years, one month and six days.

Deceased was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He came to America when about forty-five years of age, settling in Scott county. He afterwards lived in Tama county, coming from there to O'Brien county several years ago. For some time he was engaged in farming in Liberty township. Since leaving the farm he has lived with his wife in Paullina. His illness continued about six weeks, but his condition was not considered serious until two or three weeks ago, when he began to realize that the end was near.

Mr. Brumm was known as a jolly, good natured man; honest and true in his dealings, and a good friend of all. His wife, also quite old, survives him, as do two sons, Jurgen and Hans, and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Johannsen of Sutherland and Mrs. Laurence of Tama county. All were present at the funeral which was held at the house yesterday at one o'clock.
