William M. Zahren was born May 1, 1884, at Manasquan New Jersey, and died June 9, 1923, after a short illness at his home seven miles northwest of Everly. When he was three years old, he moved with his parents to Iowa and the last eleven years were spent near Everly. As a child he was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He was married February 19, 1915 to Miss Leola Kirkpatrick and to them was born one daughter, Belva Irene, now four years old. Just one month and two days ago, his beloved mother preceded him in death. He to leaves to mourn his loss his sorrow-stricken wife, his daughter, father, five brothers, Amel and Edward of Everly, Julius of Manchester, Gilbert and Harry of Lake Park; two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Garlick of Manchester.
Floyd Hakeman of White, South Dakota. Funeral services were held Monday, June 11, at the home at four o'clock. The services were in charge of the Rev. J. J. Braun of Hartley and the remains were laid to rest at Lone Tree cemetery.
