June Kreykes, age 87, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.
Memorial Services will be Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev. Kevin Muyskens officiating.
Graveside Service will be Monday, June 25 at 10:15 A.M. at East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
June Helen Kreykes was born on June 19, 1925 in Owens, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Jeanette (Tamminga) Wallinga. She lived her youth in Sheldon, Iowa where she attended a country school two miles north of Sheldon.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Kreykes of Sheldon, Iowa on January 15, 1946 in Sheldon. They lived and farmed, northeast of Sheldon. The last ten years they lived at the Christian Retirement Home.
June was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon where she was active when she was able.
June and Elmer enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in south Texas. June enjoyed making afghans, reading, being outdoors and working in her vegetable garden. She loved and enjoyed her family very much.
She passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 66 years: Elmer Kreykes of Sheldon, IA; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Doris Kreykes of Sheldon, IA, Keith and Bernice Kreykes of Sheldon, IA, Rick and Barbara Kreykes of Sioux Center, IA; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law: Marvin and Verna Wallinga of Sheldon, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandchild, Ethan Nyangamoi, one daughter-in-law, Pam Kreykes, two brothers, Harry and Richard, two sisters, Alice and Gracia.
