SHELDON—Henry Prins 95, Edgerton, MN, formerly Leota, MN, and Sheldon, died
Wednesday, May 12, at Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone, MN.
Services willbe 10:30 a.m. today Henry Prins (Saturday, May 15) at Bethel Reformed Church in Leota, MN, with the Rev. Barry Lang officiating. Burial will be at Leota Community Cemeter under the direction of Leot Burial Association & Dingmani Funeral Home in Adrian, MN.
Henry Prins, son of Peter and Johanna (Van Surksum) Prins was born Dec. 28, 1914, on th family farm near Leota, MN. H attended Lismore Public School and Leota Christian School He helped farm with his father. He married Dorothy Ruisch on Feb. 15, 1940, in the home of her uncles, Neal and Marinus Beukelman. They farmed in the Leota, MN, area for 2 years. They moved on Oct. 15 1965, to Sheldon, where they were managers at the Christian Retirement Home. They retired in 1980 and moved to Leota, MN. They moved in November of 2002 to Edgebrook Estates in Edgerton, MN.
He was a faithful member of the Bethel Reformed Church, in Leota, MN. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing Rook and having fun.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Prins of Edgerton MN; a son, Vernon and Arlis Prins of Leota, MN; two daughters, Nelma and Ken Groninga of Dunlap, and Diana and Larry Jahn of Garnett, KS; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ed Prins of Escalon, CA, Cornie Prins of Byron Center, MI, and John and Maureen Prins of Sanborn; three sisters, Annie Vander Broek of Edgerton, MN, Trina Bouma of Edgerton, MN, and Hattie and Gerrit Terpstra of Buckeye, AZ; and a brother-in-law, Bernard Hofkamp of Oak Harbor, WA.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerrit Prins, Simon Prins and Peter Prins; and four sisters, Mary Prins, Johanna Van Dyke, Henrietta Kooiman and Hilda Hofkamp.
