Alex and Elizabeth Blanchard

I am looking for any traces in the records of Alex Blanchard who was born in Ohio in about 1870. He appears in the 1930 U.S. Census for Muscatine County as "Aelx" which is either a misprint or misreading of a record, I'd say. It appears from the census that his wife was Elizabeth R. Blanchard. Alex may have been the son of my great-grandmother's sister, Marie/Maria/Mary Bohan Blanchard, who was born in Ireland and was a widow, living with my great-grandmother in Lawler, Chickasaw County, Iowa at the time of the 1900 U.S. Census.
