Iris Suzanne Avery Phelan
Born August 31, 1940 to Wilbur Carrier and Betty (Hoover) Avery in Marego, MI. Iris is survived by a son, Bradley David Phelan of Hanover, MI; former daughter-in-law, Lora Stuard Phelan of Horton, MI; granddaughters, Elizabeth Suzanne Phelan of Bath, New York and Jennifer Phelan (Matt) Murphy of Hanover; great-granddaughter, Kora Elizabeth Murphy; brothers, Reese Myron Avery of Lake City, FL and Stewart Wallace (Susan) Avery of Gregory, MI; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Iris was preceded in death by a daughter, Luanna Lucille Phelan; a brother, Gerald Lewis Avery and her parents. Upon graduation from Jackson High School, class of 1958, Iris was employed at City Bank and Trust Co. in the Auditing Dept., Consumers Power Company in the Treasury Dept. She then attended Jackson Community College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Spring Arbor College. She then was employed in the health field for 30 years. Iris' cremains will be buried at Rice Creek Cemetery, Albion, MI. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations to Allegiance Hospice Home would be welcomed.Jackson Citizen Patriot -- Michigan
