1860 marriage in Muscatine

STEIN, DALTRUP, DAHLDRUP

My great-great grandfather Mathias Stein from Saarlouis in Prussia married Elizabeth Daltrup from Westphalia, Prussia in Muscatine, Iowa in 1860.

They moved on to Seneca, Kansas where my grandmother Anna Stein was born.

Mathias and Elizabeth are buried in Seneca, but we know nothing about them earlier than their marriage in Muscatine.

Are there any Steins and/or Daltrups remaining in Muscatine?

Is it possible that they were en route to Kansas by boat?

Thanks ever so much. I live in Illinois near St. Louis and may come to Muscatine to look at records. Can anybody give me a clue as to where to start there?
