Hi Debbie,

You have a really tough hurdle on this one. Did his obituary say anything on his family?

Were there any other members of the McDaniel family that came to Iowa with Thomas? If so find their obituaries with hopes they might say something.

Louisa Co History 1889 does have a McDaniel but it only says that the father was born in VA and mother born in OH.

Have you looked at the USGenWeb Ohio sites? Select Ross County. It will give you resources to check out.
