Dear Lynn McCleary. I have in my possession a hand written letter to a Daniel Waverling (or Weaverling) Esq From S.L. Waide : Attorney & Counsellor at Law- It is on Waide's printed letterhead. It is dated January 30th 1865.
The paper has an embossed mark - The contents of the letter is about Mr. Waide's desire to purchase some land.
It was written in ink, and the flourishes in Mr. Waide's writing is quite a sight.
The letter is easy to read and in excellent condition for it age of 148 years.
We were putting this item up for sale, and I met someone from Iowa who steered us to your page.
Are you or do you know of a historical museum in Iowa that would be interested in this letter?
