George Hettinger b1809

I am looking for George Hettinger who died in Muscatine about 1864. In one family history it
states his wife Katherine also died here but the other says Chicago. George came from Chicago with his family and the Pullman family of which the wife of George Pullman was a Hettinger daughter. Then they went to Mills Country. But George died in Muscatine. Are there any records back then that I could check or older cemeteries I could search?
