In Response To: Re(P.S.): family tree (Dick)

Dick, so not sure how to feel about your response concerning my family tree. I feel kind of insulted actually! I feel like I just got lectured from my parents as if I were 5 years old again! Obviously I am new at this and I thought just placing some names would catch an eye of a person looking for similar names, such as an ordinary, beginner green horn such as me! I hope you don't respond to everyone like this. I did not know it was a query to an actual person in this post that does specific research...so, on that note, I will list specifics and would kindly appreciate any help without the "pony" comments. I have been at this for hours now and am not in a rush as you implied, just at a dead end. So, here it goes with hopefully a better answer.

Vernon O'Brien (b1923-d 1990) was my grandfather. His son, my dad, was adopted by a Kenneth Wayne Nussbaum. Supposedly my grandfather was also adopted but what I have found in my research is that perhaps his g-ma with the O'brien took official care of him.

Vernon's mom's name was Christine Kuiper(maiden) O'Brien-Heuer and his father's name was William Chas O'brien but I only have found one or two census reports with their names on it. Vernon also had 1/2 siblings, Jeanette Heuer, Ruth Heuer, maiden names...and Ernest Freed Heuer. This I know is true from facts told to me by my grandmother, Betty J. Nussbaum who still resides in Muscatine. Her mom was a Rose Marie Bieber and Henry Heuer was her dad. So, I have the Heuer name possibly on both sides but have yet determined if there is a link. I hope to find out more before I visit Muscatine in October and then will do more research in person once there. So, that's just a small tidbit of dates I have to offer for the moment without turning this into a book. I have other names and dates but am looking into these names mentioned above the most. Thank you!
