Obituary "card"

BAKER, FREEMAN

I have two what I will call obituary "cards" for lack of a better term. Each are about 9" x 6" and made of a very heavy cardstock. One contains a tribute to my great great grandfather (Harvey Baker) plus an obituary. It says it is from the Muscatine News-Tribune, Sunday, Jan. 20, 1895. The other has an obituary of two women. One is my great great grandmother (Harriet Freeman Baker) who died in 1894 and her mother, Mary Freeman (maiden name unknown) who died in 1885. There is no source for these two obits, but I am assuming it is the same paper.

Other than the one newspaper source there is no indication where these came from. Does anyone know what they are? Would a newspaper have published something like this and given it to the family? Would a funeral home do it?

I am asking because I have not seen anything like this before. I'm also wondering how to source it.

Thanks for your thoughts.
