The Muscatine Island was called an Island because the Muscatine Slough surrounded an area of town. The slough is/was located in south end Muscatine and has since been disconnected from the river.

119 West 3rd Street is near the Musser Library and community housing building downtown.

The 6th Street address is on East hill, near the old SkateLand.

Neither address is close to the Island area.
