Last rites for Mrs. Ernest (Bernice) Graham, 90, were held at Wilton Feb. 1 with the Rev. Paul Penington officiating. Burial was in Overman cemetery at Atalissa. Pallbearers were Derwood Keith, Nevin Roberts, Ivan Toyne, Thomas Carlisle, Orville Sterner and Merlin Spilger.
Mrs. Graham died at Muscatine General hospital Jan. 28.
The daughter of Thomas and Jennie Hewitt Hurlbut, she was born at Clarksville, N.Y. July 20, 1897. She was married to Clarence Carpenter at Wilton March 28, 1920. She married Lloyd Maplethorpe in Missouri in 1932 and Ernest Graham in Portage, Wis. in 1970. She was preceded in death by her husbands.
She was a piano instructor and had been employed by the Lacock Funeral Home in Wilton. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, Atalissa Camp and Lotus Chapter No. 32, Order of the Eastern Star, West Liberty.
She is survived by 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
