Last rites for Mrs. Clarence (Irene I.) Burr, 91, West Liberty were held at private services Dec. 29 with burial in the Oak Ridge cemeter.

Mrs. Burr died at the Simpson Memorial Nursing Home, West Liberty Dec. 26.

The daughter of William B. and Anna Mary Smith, she was born at Nichols Dec. 2, 1896. She attended the Willow Grove and Pike schools. She was married to Clarence N. Burr at Muscatine March 3, 1915. The couple farmed in Johnson county, retiring in 1946 and moving to Iowa City.

She is survived by 4 sons, Cleo, Harvey and Lon, all of West Liberty and Chester, Mesa, Ariz.; 2 daughters, Iona Waite, West Liberty and Ruby Larson, Cedar Rapids; 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister-in-law, Rose Smith, Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973, a sister, a brother, a half-brother and a half-sister.
