Funeral services for Susie Carter, 86, Muscatine, were held July 28, 1987 at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Schoepf officiating. Pallbearers were Vernon Rummells, Charles Terrill, Elmer Anderson, Gerald Christian and LeRoy Thurness. Burial was in the North Prairie cemetery at West Liberty.

Mrs. Carter died July 25 at her home.

The daughter of John and Agnes B. Plumley Rummells, she was born April 19, 1901 in West Liberty. She married Sidney L. Carter May 24, 1925 in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Carter is survived by 2 brothers, Glen Rummells, Lone Tree and Vernon Rummells, Muscatine and a sister, Mrs. LeRoy (Niada) Thurness, West Liberty. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
