March 13, 1985 - The Tipton Conservative

The death of Saundra Trimble, 26 and A. Keith Schiele, 46, both of West Liberty, has been ruled as a murder and suicide. The bodies of the couple were found March 4 at the trailer home in West Liberty in which Trimble lived. Both had been shot once with a small caliber shotgun.

Notes written by Schiele, found at his farm home near West Liberty, stated what was to be done with his livestock, farm and children in case of death. The condition of the home indicated that a struggle had taken place before the deaths.

Last rites for Saundra Graham Trimble, 26, were held in Iowa City March 8 with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery at West Liberty.

The daughter of Alfred R. and Loretta C. Bell Graham, she was born in Iowa City May 16, 1958, attended the Mid Prairie schools and graduated from West Liberty high school in 1976.
