CARL WIESE
Carl Frederick Wiese, 50, died suddenly at his residence Sunday morning at Mount Pleasant.

He was born Aug. 1, 1913, at West Liberty, the son of William T. and Clara Marolf Wiese.

His marriage to Irene Hill was Jan. 16, 1935. [handwritten date: 3-1-64]

Surviving are his parents; his wife; two sons, Ted Iowa City, Robert, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Del (Donna) Thorpe, Miami, Fla.; two grandchildren; one brother, Earl, Letts.

He had been associated with the Kent Feeds Co. for the past 10 years. He was a member of the First Methodist church, Mount Pleasant, and the Order of Eastern Star, V.F.W., masonic lodge No. 32, AF & AM.

He had served with the fifth division of the marine corps on Iwo Jima and Volcano Island as a machine gunner in world war II.

Services will be held at the First Methodist church, Mount Pleasant, 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Muscatine under direction of Weir-Conkes Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Committal services will be at Memorial Park cemetery, Muscatine.
