Funeral services for Lester Taylor, 66, Atalissa, were held July 31 at Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty, with the Rev. John Morrissey officiating. Burial was in Overman cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Stiff, William McKillip, Donald Jackson, Robert Ervan, Ted Tobarg and John Rife. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Arington, Kenneth Mark Arington, Herb Gatzke, Richard Gatzke, Richard Viner Sr. and Fritz Boersen. Organist was Mrs. Dorothy Mays.

Mr. Taylor died July 27 at his home.

He was born Sept. 6, 1917 at Trueax, to Sherman and Effie Chillcott Taylor. He married Evelyn Glines Jan. 13, 1937 in Oskaloosa.

Mr. Taylor retired in 1977 from Wendling Quarries in Moscow.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Ross, Atalissa; 2 sons, Robert, Muscatine and Lester, Jr., Baltic, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Kallenberger, Muscatine and 2 brothers, Clyde, Muscatine and Bernard Sheahan, East Moline, Ill. He was preceded in death by a daughter, 2 sisters and a brother.
