Funeral services have been arranged for Mrs. Ruth Springborn Zeidler, 35, talented musician, whose death occurred at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Hershey hospital. Mrs. Zeidler, who had been in failing health since October of last year, became ill while on a vacation trip with her family in Florida and death followed shortly upon her return to Muscatine and admittance to the hospital.

The body is at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home and services will be held there at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. Claude W. Cooper, pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
The daughter of Arthur C. and Ida Appel Springborn, she was born March 12, 1917, in Muscatine. She was married to Raymond Zeidler on July 10, 1938, in Muscatine, and for the past several years made their home on rural route 5.

Mrs. Zeidler received her first high acclaim in the music field while a student at Muscatine high school, when she won first place in the state music contest on the marimba and piano. This was followed by the national contest where she placed first on the marimba and second on the piano.

She was one of the six soloists with the 100-piece marimba band which played at the World's Fair in Chicago in 1933. In 1935, she toured Europe as one of three soloists for the marimba band, having played in France, England, and Belgium. This 100-piece band was organized by Claire Omar Musser.

Upon her return from Europe, she played in Carnegie hall in New York, where she was one of three soloists.
Some of Mrs. Zeidler's patrons are Mary Pickford and Lawrence Tibbett. She was graduated with highest honors from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago and was a member of Phi Beta sorority there.
Besides being an excellent musician, she also was an exceptional student, having been salutatorian of her high school graduating class here and valedictorian of her graduating class at Muscatine junior college.
Mrs. Zeidler was a member of the First Methodist church and served at times as organist there. Since her marriage, she had been engaged in giving private music lessons.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Robert Raymond, age 10 months; one daughter Marilyn Ruth, age three and one-half years; and her mother, Mrs. Ida Springborn. She was preceded in death by her father on Feb. 22, 1952.
