ATALISSA - - George Weiss, 70, of Atalissa, died Monday morning at the University Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

He was born Oct. 20, 1893, the sone of Phillip and Rosina (Kaufman) Weiss in Lone Tree. Weiss was an Atalissa farmer.

He married Rose Marolf on April 23, 1913 in Moscow.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Dorothy at home and Mrs. Marie March of Atalissa, two brothers, Albert and Walter, both of West Liberty, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three children, two brothers, and one sister.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa. The body is at the Snyder Funeral home in West Liberty and will remain there until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at which time it will be removed to the church. Burial will be in the Weiss Cemetery.
