Last rites for Mrs. Arthur P. (Lula M.) Bailey, 80, were held at the Snider Funeral Home, West Liberty, April 27. Burial was in the Springdale cemetery. Mrs. Bailey died at the Wilton Nursing home April 25.

The daughter of Julius and Agnes Schroeder Sindt, she was born near Sunbury Sept. 14, 1902. She graduated from West Liberty high school in 1921 and attended Iowa State Teachers college. She taught in rural schools near Atalissa and West Liberty.

She was married to Arthur P. Bailey at her parents home Sept. 24, 1925. The couple farmed north of West Liberty their entire married lives.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Jacqueline) Elliott, Wheaton;, IL; 2 sons, Thomas and James, both of West Liberty and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers.
