Funeral services for Mildred Guthrie, 83, West Liberty, were held Aug. 10 at Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial was in Oakridge cemetery. Mrs. Guthrie died Aug. 6 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

Mildred Guthrie was a retired school teacher and was employed by the West Liberty Public library for 12 years. She married Andrew Guthrie in 1924 in Independence and he preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls and she was a member and past matron of Lotus chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Guthrie is survived by 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters and a brother.
