Funeral services for Ethyl Pyra Naomi Schermer, 90, Muscatine, were held Dec. 20 with burial in Memory Park Cemetery, Muscatine. Mrs. Schermer died at her home in Muscatine Dec. 18.
The daughter of David W. and Luella McQuillen McCroskey, she was born in Center township, Cedar county Dec. 7, 1889. She taught in the rural schools near Tipton. She was married to Gregory Franklin Crock in Tipton Jan. 23, 1913. She later married Fred Schermer in Kahoka, Mo. March 31, 1941.
Mrs. Schermer was a member of the Park Ave. Methodist church in Muscatine and was vice-president and charter member of the Gold Star Mothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hart, Cedar Rapids, 2 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by both husbands, a brother and a son.
