Funeral services for Elliott (Tug) Cole, 55, Moscow, were held at Wilton Dec. 17 with the Rev. Larry Bunger officiating. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery, Wilton. Pallbearers were William, Stan and Richard Cole, Richard Finck, John and Wayne Kroeger and Robert Babbitt. Honorary pallbearers were Wilbur Paul, Robert Brenner, Robert Walker Sr., James Walker, George McCoy, Howard Maurer and Cecil McGahey. Diana Maurer was organist and Max Lauser vocalist.
Mr. Cole died at Mercy hospital, Davenport Dec. 14.
The son of Richard and Alfreda Beckmann Cole, he was born at Dixon Dec. 27, 1923. He was a farmer, served in the Army Air Force in World War II and was as member of the American Legion at Wilton.
He was married to Jacqueline Babbitt in Davenport July 23, 1949.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, Moscow; a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Christine) Phillips, Wilton; 2 sons, Richard, Charleston, S.C. and Ray, Durant; 6 grandchildren and 4 sisters, Mrs. Erna Finck, Durant; Mrs. Herman (Elizabeth) Kroeger, Davenport, Mrs. Elsie Marxen, Winterset and Mrs. Bert (Edna) Stonecipher, Centralia, Ill. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and a sister.
