Final rites for John (Jack) H. Chesebro, 81, were held at the Snider Funeral home, West Liberty, Aug. 16, with burial in Oak Ridge cemetery. Leon E. Tester officiated at the service.

Mr. Chesebro died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Aug. 13, following an extended illness.

The son of Charles and Ella Chapman Chesebro, he was born at Adams Station, Muscatine county, and was married to Grace Miller at Aberdeen, S.D., May 13, 1919. She died in 1960. He was married to Elsie Marie Lambert in Kerrville, Texas in 1968.

Mr. Chesebro lived in West Liberty until 1972 when he moved to Stanwood. He served as a city councilman in West Liberty. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sisters, Mrs. Margaret Goehring, Spearfish, S.D., and Mrs. Sue Rekown, Ellendale, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, 2 brothers and a sister.
