David B. Wilson, 83, died April 19 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

Services were held April 21 at 2 p.m. at the West Liberty United Methodist church, the Rev. Lawrence Carlston officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where the American Legion also conducted rites.

Mr. Wilson was born near West Liberty March 18, 1890, the son of Alexander and Doris Mohr Wilson. He graduated from West Liberty high school and received his degree at Iowa State University in veterinary medicine in 1913. He practiced at Moorhead and was married there to Elma Lee July 21, 1917. He entered the army in 1917 and served as a calvary officer in France during World War I. Following military service, he took up farming in the West Liberty community.

He was a member of the United Methodist church and the Mansell L. Phillips American Legion post in West Liberty.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Marshall (Leone) Hawley and Mrs. Carl (Aurilee) Geertz, both of West Liberty and 12 grandchildren.
